Abstract
Surveys, explorations and excavations carried out in the urban area of Barbastro have demonstrated the existence of the Muslim medina of Barbasthûr, together with the remains of at least two of its suburbs. New discoveries allow the catalogue of immovable archaeological heritage and Andalusian ceramics to be extended. The materials recovered from the sites at Plaza de San Antonio, 2, and Calle de Los Hornos, 19, provide new evidence of both some ceramic models and Islamic structures that can be dated to the 10th to 11th centuries, contributing to a better understanding of this city of the northern border of the Upper March.
