Abstract

This article offers an overview of the epigraphic ensemble of the former Cathedral of Roda de Isábena and delves into the identity of one of the four women registered therein, named Sebilia de Logra. The author of this article argues that Sibila belonged to the Aguilanido household by birth and later on married Juan de Lográn, with whom she shared ownership of the castle of Graus between 1261 and 1277. The role she played in several historical events also suggests that she exceeded the expectations put on her by virtue of being a woman. The article also focuses on two other family members namely Guillermo —registered besides Sibila — and Poncio — who was mentioned in a marble stone gone which praised prior Bernardo de Avellana, who established a chapel which the author suggests is the chapel of Santa María at the church in Fonz.
