Abstract
In the second half of the 18th century the town council of Bielsa leased the little known iron mine of Barleto to a French citizen who processed the mineral in the forge of San Juan de Plan. This gave rise to a long lawsuit with another French subject, in the Royal Court of Zaragoza, whose documentation contains information on various administrators of the Bielsa mine, a lawsuit filed by the town council of Bielsa on privileges, a census of neighbors, a possible falsification of deeds and a royal anger of King Carlos III of Spain.
