Abstract

The article relates and describes the evolution of the monastery of La Encarnación in Huesca, popularly known as Las Miguelas, from its foundation, which took place in 1622, to the present day. The vision is based on the consideration that the architectural space is a place where some Carmelite nuns of the ancient observance live, and its spatial evolution and changes of use are functional modifications adapted to new spiritual or work needs and to the community itself and to the civil society in which it is inserted.
